Reducing reel’s weight and inertia increases rod tip control when casting. Starting, stopping and directional changes are quicker as well.

Contact nymphing is improved with longer rods and arm reach to suspend the line off the water's surface. The lighter your gear, the better your line control and dead-drifts.

A light reel makes your rod more lively and sensitive to strikes because the mass of the reel dampens movement at the rod tip.

The Mavrk Dual rod with the stinger M1 is my most used set up of all time. The M1 comes fully loaded with Mavrks tracer line, which is my favorite ESN line out on the market. This set up is ready to get you catching fish right out of the tube. As a guide in Pennsylvania I have seen everyone from beginners to pros catch on this set up.

Stinger M1/Dual Rod - Combo Kit
2+ years fishing a Stinger M1 and it's my go-to for 90% of my days on the water. So light, simple, and versatile. I have one set up with a European-style mono rig for fishing local rivers. Have played and landed plenty of hard-fighting fish in big water and also late season skinny water. The Stinger M1 really shines on the longest days of fishing, so light, my casting arm stays fresh start to finish with sensitivity to detect those subtle takes I might otherwise miss.

love the Mavrk fly rod - it's between a 3 and 4 weight and you can set it up for 9' or 10.5' with an extra section. The 10.5 length is perfect for me, the 9 foot setup is perfect for my kids, so one rod is very versatile depending on the day. This has quickly become my favorite go to rod in my quiver.
There's no question that this is most sensitive nymph rod in my quiver- I even like it better than my 2wt T and T for casting small nymphs. And it just looks freakin cool! Three hours into my first day the tip snapped off a few inches from the Tip Top as I was landing a fish. I was disappointed but kept fishing it until lunch when I got back to the car to swap out the tip section with the spare that comes with the MV-X. The next days I contacted MAVRK and told Jeff what had happened. He said no problem a new tip section is on its way, free of charge. No rod company has ever done that for me.
